MASON — — The Mason Art Guild has an exciting array of workshops and events scheduled for the coming year.
• March 15, 1-4 p.m.: Draw or paint a live model in 1860's dress
• April 19, noon-4 p.m.: LCC’s Jack Bergeron teaches animal sculpture
• May 17, 1 p.m.: Marge Clay demonstrates glass on glass collage
• June 2, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Mark Mehaffey teaches watercolor on yupo paper
• July 19, 1-4 p.m.: Pair up and do portraits of each other
• Aug. 16, noon: Annual potluck picnic
• Sept. 6, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sept. 13, 1-4 p.m.: Raku at Doug DeLind's studio
• Oct. 18, 1-4 p.m.: Watercolor painting on rice paper with Jim Ferguson
• Nov. 5, 1-4 p.m.: Exchange of techniques, ideas, supplies and books
• Dec. 20, noon: Christmas potluck lunch and optional miniature exchange
Most workshops are held at the Vevay Township Hall in Mason and are free to members except for the cost of supplies. To inquire about membership or attending one or more workshops, call Betty McGinnis at (517) 882-1040 or Shirley Renwick at (517) 676-5314.
