Ingham's school board announces new member

MASON — Ingham Intermediate School District’s Board of Education has appointed Michael Flowers as its newest member.

Flowers is a native of Lansing and is a graduate of Lansing Public Schools. He works at Lansing Board of Water and Light as their human resources director.

“Mr. Flowers lives and works in the Lansing region and understands the complexity of our school environment. He brings balanced experience to our group as both a teacher and a business professional. He will be a great addition to our Board of Education,” stated Stanley S. Kogut, Jr., Ingham ISD superintendent.

Flowers holds his master degree from Michigan State University in labor relations and human resources and his bachelors of business administration degree from Northwood University. In addition to his Ingham ISD Board of Education duties, he is also:

• Adjunct professor at Lansing Community College and guest lecturer at Michigan State University, Olivet College and Central Michigan University

• President of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity…Epsilon Tau Sigma Chapter, Lansing.

• Past president of the board of directors for Peckham Industries, Inc. and current board member and board member for Peckham’s Community Foundation

• Past president and current advisory board member for the Mid-Michigan Chapter of Labor & Employment Relations Association

Michael Flowers lives in Lansing with his wife, Pamela and their three daughters.
