MASON - The Capital Area Career Center, located at 611 Hagadorn Road in Mason, is holding an open house on Wednesday, Nov. 30, from 4:30-7:30 p.m.
Community members, students and their families are welcome to attend. Guided tours of the entire Career Center and opportunities to visit specific classes of interest will be available.
The Career Center offers career exploration programs for high school juniors and seniors, which allow students to discover their strengths and begin to develop a path for their future to college and beyond.
Students have multiple programs available to them in such areas as Arts & Communications, Business/Management/Marketing & Technology, Engineering/Manufacturing & Industrial Technology, Health Sciences and Human Services.
Students at the Career Center are also able to earn college credit, free of charge, while they are still in high school.
"In our programs, students find their direction before spending money on college and start taking control of their future now," said Jeffrey Bohl, principal of the Capital Area Career Center. This year a new Law Enforcement Program was started and for next year, there is an Information Technology Program under development. The center has college partnership agreements with eight colleges and universities.
