A Historic Meeting for the Historic District Commission

I have the privilege to serve as a member of the Mason Historic District Commission.  This city board has jurisdiction over some planning & building activities in the Mason Historic District and serves as a traditional historical commission as well.  We work to preserve the historic nature of the city and chronicle the changes of the community over time.

Tonight the commission itself had a historic moment.  During our regular commission meeting, we were informed that this was likely the last official meeting of any city board or organization to take place in the "old" city hall.  How fitting that the Historic District Commission got to hold the last public meeting in this landmark.  Of course the old city hall will be torn down, so we took some pictures of the commission in the former city council chambers which also served as our meeting space.

Looking forward to creating history in the new city hall!
